Hoa Binh province
Vietnamese siecentists supposed that Hoa Binh, the cradle of original settlement from Muong ethnic group, created a great part of Dong Son bronze drum culture in the North Vietnam. Where the guests are warmly welcomed by gong’s performance ( a musical instrument which we use a wooden stick to hit the round circle bronze instrument).
The legend said it that Viet, Muong were two siblings who can speak the same language system departed from each other. Viet people were strongly determined to considered and explored the new settlements so that they used to live in citadel, in Vietnamese language, Kinh people.
This province was named as Hoa Binh under French period in 1886, with the name of Muong province with the major minority . Nowaday, the groups of Tay, Muong, Thai , Dao, Mong, Kinh become the owner of the land living in harmony with another groups as well. In 1975 , Hoa Binh and Ha Tay combined into one province with the official name Ha Son Binh. On the other hands, Ha Son Binh which was departed into Hoa Binh and Ha Tay in 1991. At present, this mountainous province has 1 city and 9 districts, becomes the corridor between the Red river delta and the far North West.
The province shares its boundary to Nho Quan district , Ninh Binh province, especially , Cuc Phuong National Park. There are many tourist areas to explore any time because it is about 70km drive from Hanoi by taking high way Hoa Lac – Hoa Binh.
Let’s see Da river begins from China to share fresh water to local people in Hoa Binh city – an approach to Hoa Binh hydro plant – the main hydro power to supply throughout Vietnam. To exploit Da river until now, the three massive hydro – power constructions are available such as : Lai Chau hydro power plant, Son La hydro power plant – the largest hydro plant in South East Asia and Hoa Binh province
Driving along highway number, take a coffee break in stopover in Thung khe pass usually an indispensable moment to explore the Northwest before departure to Mai Chau with Lac village . The frontier between Muong and Thai people begin right here . As soon as your arrival to Mai Chau, you can not miss out the scenery and local unique culture made imprint on the mossed roof top, tourist village Lac, Pom Coong, Na Phon .Thai people , the extremely hospitable owners of the wonderland in Mai Chau will keep your time here more preciously .
