Martyr cemetery

The martyr cemetery was contructed in 1958, located near A1 hill from the South , opposite to Vo Nguyen Giap , Muong Thanh ward, Dien Bien Phu city

The name of fallen  with high ranking officials, soliders in Dien Bien battefield, mostly, unknown inscribed in 644 tombs.

Hill A1 is considered as one of the three National Cemetery in Dien Bien Province, under renewed, innovated on 2th Sep 1993 – the national historical heritage with an area of more than 32000 m2.

Name of the fallen still in unknown area, there are only four tombs of the four martyrs carved on their tombs: To Vinh Dien who saved heavy cannon as it slided down, Phan Dinh Giot covered his body on enemy’s shelter , Be Van Dan who put himself to be the tripod support his comrade on fire and Tran Can who received the bullets into his bodies and passed away before one hour

Local people often pay visit to thank the martyrs on their holiday, to remember, to inscribe their dedications to the national liberation
